Sumita is our Chief Legal, Compliance, & Administrative Officer after joining from Instil Bio, where she had overseen global legal, compliance, human resources, and other G&A functions, and managed corporate governance.  She has more than 23 years of pharmaceutical and biotech experience, and a breadth of knowledge in global healthcare law, compliance, product launches, collaborations, alliances, and business operations.  Sumita has served in similar executive roles at Calithera Biosciences and Pharmacyclics.  At Pharmacyclics, Ms. Ray led the launch of blockbuster Imbruvica® and the M&A transaction with AbbVie.  She has also held senior positions at Elan Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, and AstraZeneca, and supported brands in neurology, oncology, and cardiovascular therapeutic areas such as Tysabri®, Avastin®, and Crestor®.  She is an independent board member at Biomea Fusion, where she serves as Chair of the Nominating Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Audit and Pricing Committees.  She is also an advisory board member at BioTrillion, a private healthtech AI start-up developing digital biomarkers.
