Dwayne’s focus on developing others through coaching, infecting others with a continuous improvement mindset, and servant leadership approach have all contributed to his and his teams’ abilities to meet the needs of patients over the last 30 years. His operations experiences helped create a balanced, yet action-oriented leadership style that enables others to do their best work, focuses on employee engagement, and encourages teammates to think, act, and “fail fast” in order to drive learning and results. He firmly believes in the principle of doing the hard things first so others may benefit.Prior to joining the Vaxxinity team Dwayne first spent 23+ years with Merck supporting aseptic form/fill operations, API and vaccine manufacturing, and strategic change management initiatives in a variety of Manufacturing, Technical, and Quality leadership roles. More recently, Dwayne was a member of Dendreon Pharmaceuticals LLC leadership team. As Vice President – Operations, he was responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted, compliant manufacture and distribution of an immunotherapy prescribed for patients suffering with advanced prostate cancer. Dwayne received his B.ChE from the University of Delaware and his MBA from James Madison University.
